August brought Vacation Bible School week to Berean Bible Church.  The turnout was very good.  The theme was a continuation from last year - Jonah, An Overboard Adventure.

Each evening began with registration, sing-alongs, and character skits used to teach solid values.  The youngsters were sent off to one of five stations, Cross Roads, Harbor Lights, Belly of the Fish, Nineveh Palace, and the Captain's Quarters.   At each of the stations the children enjoyed songs, crafts, and a lesson derived from Jonah's experiences when told to go to Nineveh by God.

The photos below capture just a small portion of the weeks activities.

The "Overboard Choir" started off each evening with songs for all to sing along with.

There was a band available for music backup.
Jonah sang the theme song each night before everyone left the auditorium for their stations.

There were a great number of kids each night - here they are involved in the opening program that took place each evening.
One young lady was the resident wrapper for the week - Miss Leah.

Each child selected one of the small box banks to take home and add change - to be returned later in the week. They knew the money was for Compassion International, a charity "to break the cycle of poverty for children everywhere." (www.compassion.com)

Skits were put on to bring Jonah's experiences to the children.

There were crafts in every station to re-enforce the theme.

Little ones were found having fun everywhere!

The staff participated in all activities with the children .
They also were instrumental in explaining the plan of salvation with them - and counseled those who made decisions for Jesus Christ.

The following are just a few more photos taken during the week.
