Welcome to the Exodus
Celebration and Dinner - Sept. 28, 2003
This gathering was assembled to recognize those in
the church who have been faithful to God through years of service. Awards
were given out to members with twenty years or more of obedient faithfulness
to our Lord. Four of these members were recognized for 35 years of service at
Berean Bible Church. They were among the families that started the church in
1968 and continue to be a vital part of God's work in this body. Read more
about the church 'history of devotion,' in Who We Are on
this site.
The evening began with a lasagna dinner, followed
by the presentation of awards. This was followed by inspirational music
supplied by our own praise band. The evening of celebration and praise climaxed with the release of hundreds of balloons. We
thank Him for doing this wonderful work called Berean Bible Church.
Celebrating the faithfulness of these dedicated
brothers and sisters also lends itself as an example to all of us in
Christ. We should be inspired to be available to our Lord in service and
deed as we kick off the Exodus Project at Berean Bible Church. It is a
project of update and enhancement to our facilities to better serve our community
as an act of obedience to the great commission.
The photos, below, are a sample of the evenings events.
Our mission is to lead people to Christ
and help them grow as His followers.

The mood was festive and everyone looked forward to an
evening of celebration and a lasagna dinner. |
 |
Scooby-Doo showed up just to check things out and beg for
a few scraps. |
 |
It wasn't easy but I caught a few of the camera shy
kitchen help.
They did a spectacular job! |
 |
All had a great time. And whoever supplied
the table center pieces did a fantastic job! They were a beautiful
addition to the tables. |
 |
Jim Willard headed up this event and was the master of
ceremony for the evening. Pastor Stan presented the awards to those in
recognition.
|
 |
The first award went to Ben White for his years of
service to the Lord. He became a member in 1982, 21 years ago. |
 |
Becoming a member in 1979, Frank Cannarella was
recognized for his years of faithfulness. |
 |
Kathrine Schultz joined this family in 1978, making this
her silver anniversary at Berean Bible Church. |
 |
Chet Schultz accepted the award for his late father, Chet
Sr. who also joined the church in 1978. |
 |
In 1977, Donna Talcott became a member of this
church. We thank her for her years of dedication to the Lord. |
 |
John Whitbeck was next to receive a plaque for being a

 |
Carl and Arlene Beebe became members in 1970. They
have been solid members; those you can always find at most every function. |
 |
Joining the family at this church in 1969 was Don
French. |
 |
Bill and Carol Reid are charter members of Berean Bible
Church. They, along with 5 other families had a vision for the lost in the Greene area. These families started this church in 1968,
thirty-five years ago. |
 |
Here, Donna Phelps Whitbeck receives recognition for her
35 years with this church body. She has been a faithful servant to
Him in teaching Sunday School classes for the little ones over these
many years. |
 |
Don Phelps, the first Treasurer of BBC, was also among
those first families to come together with the hope of serving the Lord in
this community 35 years ago. He, too, is a charter member. |
 |
Pastor Stan & Rhonda Baker were given a huge card,
signed by all that night, along with a beautiful clock, affirming that they are
truly loved by this family. |

Here, the praise band plays as the balloons are released
and tossed about by everyone as the perfect end to a festive evening! |
