Another Missions Trip - this time to Bolivia, South America

CWE returned to Bolivia in 2007 to build a sixth church in that country.  Berean Bible Church sent a worker, Terry, to serve the Lord on this missions trip.  This church was built in the suburbs of Santa Cruz for missionary Jake Wiebe. Terry stated that no matter how many short-term missions trips you go on, God speaks to each man personally and it seems, always in a different way.

The first truss - used as the template from which the rest will be built. Here, six men flip the truss. It required about 7 men to move the trusses easily. They were made of heavy, hard mahogany.
This is Dave holding a LIVE mole cricket in his teeth.  We found it in the sandy soil while working.  This was Dave's idea for a photo. Jake Wiebe, the missionary we are building the church for.  He's not afraid to jump in on any task.  He's quite the man for God!
Trusses going up on the second morning... Terry, from Berean Bible Church, lifting the truss over the wall from on top of the wall.
Some of the men add grommets to the bolts needed to install the roof tiles. "So, tell me again, which way do these trusses go up?"
All the trusses and purlings are up by lunch. (The church is behind the wall in the forefront.) The trusses are up and the tiles on.  Roof's on. What's next?
It's time to build the entrance-way roof. The front porch is going on... they're getting close to end of their work week.
The team and nationals working along side stopped for a quick photo before lunch. Dan with the neighbor children who live next door to the new church.
Terry and Shawn installing the rakes along the front of the roof. Doesn't it look great?!
The nationals working on the interior side of the walls. Is this a South American version of 'The Mattress Man?'
Not uncommon mode of transportation in Bolivia.
